Thought I would start this tread to stimulate some discussion on this board. No one seems to post anything these days. Lets hear about your winter project!

On my TCD, The plan is to do nothing. Although Rocket Rogers has a front flairing with a stero that looks pretty good. We will see if the funds hold out.

On my 00c.

Chrome fork tubes, front and rear break calipers, the brake and clutch lever brackets and master cylinder. Braided brake, clutch, throttle, fast idile lines. New chrome trees raked 7 degrees. 21 inch Ness front wheel and tire (anyone interested in a 16 inch Ness wheel let me know). New front fender. New headlight, speedo/ insterment cluster. Was going to do the rear end but fumds stoped me (there's always next year).

Bought 2001 Vic cast wheels and am having the rear one chromed to put on with my spoked front wheel. I'm tired of trying to keep the rear spoke clean.

New Bub Big Willie pipes.

New and bigger leather saddlebags.

That's the major stuff, some small odds and ends, but nothing special.

Speaking of large saddle bags, did you see the one's on e-bay. The guy must have posted them 25 times. I will say they look fairly nice and are bigger than the Vics.

I don't know about the looks, but I think he'll hang on to them for a while because of the price. A little steep for no-name bags.
They are 20" L x 7" W x 12" H.

The Vic bags I had on were 12" L x 6.5" W x 12" H.
I wanted a bag that was bigger with out being wider. that's part of the appeal of hard bags is that they look narrower whether they are or not.
The ones I bought were 19.75" L x 6" W x 14" H.

Let's see, got that butt ugly '01 airbox outta there and put in a '99 box.
Got the floorboards and cruise-arms I made off and almost ready to go for chrome.
Took off my makeshift luggage rack and have now decided to make one to accomodate the bag I'm using for a trunk and to support a lockable one in the future, then it goes off for chrome.
Mounted a really sweet piece of chrome momma got for me, I'll tell ya about that after I get around to taking a pic.
Got a couple other ideas floating around in the gray matter but may have to wait till closer to spring.

Mark, where does one get a 99 air box? I thought that the reason they changed to the but ugly one was because there was not enough air getting to the engine. Is it hard to do this mod? Give us some specifics. Thanks!

Dave, who's hard bags did you purchase?

Frank, Ordered the airbox from polaris, bought everything except the top cover. As far as difficulty, hardest part is getting the old one out (used a dremel for most of the cut then finished with a hacksaw blade) and for the record the new gasket is a genuine POS! For not getting enough air, my understanding was they wanted to quiet the intake down to help with EPA standards and the new airbox makes a couple of ponies with the tubes(ponies for being able to see the front jug was a good trade off IMO.)

With almost 22,000 miles my front suspension has been feeling harsh and I'm gettng occasional bucking at low rpm, which I've heard might be the TPS starting to go kaput. Also one of my spotlights is not working but the bulb is OK.

My winter plan is to replace my fork seals, find the spots wiring problem, and look into the TPS thing.....all routine maintainance.

Oh yeah.......maybe I'll wash it if I have time.

Frank, they aren't hard bags. I was trying to describe how I like the looks of hard bags because they look narrower whether they are or not.

I am going to put the higher output charging system on the 99 and maybe the 01. The Vegas is getting Ace Swoop pipes, New turn signals, Side mount plate, and maybe a few other things.

Glad to see the ILVMC is thriving.

We've all had those days when everything you touch turns to crap and not that long ago I had one while attempting to change out my headlight and running lights to the Adjure "Ice" lights. Ended up cracking the lens on the headlight so off to buy another, $62 bucks, up in smoke.

Well last night was the opposite of that, everything went smooth as silk. Second headlight installed without a hitch(without breaking it), wiring harness adjusted to accomodate the 99 airbox so the tank sets down where it belongs without chafing the wires, Gerbing harness installed and ready to go, and measurements for custom luggage rack completed, stock all ready to go should have all mods done by friday when floorboards get back from the chromer. Friday night reinstall floorboards and according to the weatherman, saturday up to 60. Guess what my plans are!!?!
