Rosemary has been calling around for rooms here is what she got so for. She has asked for pricing for 10 rooms. Like I said before, the sooner we have a head count the better off we will be. Or should we just pick one.

Hyatt will give us a rate of $145 if we block 10 rooms and can guarantee
8...she will forward documentation on Monday.

Here is the first proposal that I received....the rate is $145 if they call directly or $129 if we reserve the block of 10...the only drawback is that it has to be filled at 80% or I'm on the hook for them if I sign the proposal...the alternative here is that we have everyone go to the Wyndam.com

Thanks Frank & Rosemary,

So right now the choice is between the Hyatt and the Wyndham?

Hyatt @ $145 IF 8 of 10 rooms blocked off are filled?

Wyndham @ $129 IF 8 of 10 rooms blocked off are filled?

I don't know downtown very well so, is either of these places better? If they are similar in location and have similar amenities, then we need to pick the least expensive one in order to try and attract more people to join us.
Let us know if you get any more info.

Looks like we'll need to make this decision in the next week or so.

They are both good places, I think the Hyatt is in a little better location. Rosemary will do more checking this week. I will post when she is finished.

Looks like we have at least 8 rooms. The Wyndham is accross from Water Tower and closer to the shopping and cheaper. I will post on the VMC site the specifics. Everyone agree before I go forward?

We need to act ASAP in making reservations. The Hyatt just came out with a special for the week end of Febuary 21st for 119 dollars with no commitment of 10 rooms. They have a lot of rooms but this price should not last that long. Reservations should be made for the night of the 21st of Feb. Here is the info. This is non-refundable, so you have to give a credit card. Please let me know by e-mail or post here once you make your reservation. Thanks

Room reserved, FYI Dental convention in hotel for weekend requires prepay. Don't need to mention VMC. Ready to party!

With parking costing 35.00 per night at the Hotel plus fuel and tolls. How about meeting at Our place and taking a Limo in? There should be 8 or 10 of us out in this area. The rate for a strech round trip from Maple Park to the Hyatt is about $350 . No driving , no traffic hassell, no parking trouble, get to sit back and relax, Open bar, see the sites if any, enjoy good company and party. With tip this would be about $50 per person based on 8 people or $40 per person 10 people. Each car solo would cost about $60 each with parking fee, fuel and tolls. Anyone interested?

Sorry, we are planning to make a stop at the new Jimmy Buffet "Cheeseburger in Paradise" restaurant in Downers Grove on our way west on Sunday, (we've been a parrotheads at least as long as I've been a biker), and don't expect everyone in the limo would want to join us.

I worked in the Loop for 10 years and drove in about half the time. I don't mind it.

If anyone is interested in going to Cheesburger in Paradise and would like to ride with us, you're welcome. We can accommodate another couple in our car.

Tim,

For what it's worth, let me know if you get a big enough group to keep the limo reasonable. I HATE driving in Chicago. I used to make Belinda drive for me once we got to Merrillville. (i grew up in a town of 2000--on a good day).
