Hello eveyone, just wanted to leave a note here regarding the outstanding service at Randys in Huntley. I believe in complements when a job is well done. I have just purchased my first Victory this year and have already put the first 500 miles on it. I went to Randys to get the first oil change done and decided to go with the stg 1 upgrade. What a difference!!! If anyone else is considering the upgrade I would say go for it.....I've put 500 miles on since the upgrade and haven't seen any negatives yet.
Randy and his guys get two thumbs up........
P.S. has anyone put the stg II kit on yet?????
any recomendations on a seat upgrade??????:bounce:

Booter, what are you riding? I have the Stage II on my 02 TCD. Will not give you as much "Seat of the Pnats" difference as the stage I did, but IMO it was worth it. The first thing I noticed was the Torque, man you can pull a tree stump out of the ground. As far as the seat goes, need to know the model. Corbin and Mustang make seats for most, I do not know if Mustang has one for the Vegas. Put on 130 miles on Saturday!! Felt great to get out.

Hi Frank, I ride a 2003 Touring Cruiser. Thanks for the input about the stg II. Alot of my riding is done with my wife so a little extra torque would be appreciated.
I've heard that the Mustang seat is a great upgrade, very comfortable. Any insite as to where to go to get a good price??
Direct parts I've found has the seat for $584 with backrest...much better than $649.
Weather looks great for today so I'm off to Starved Rock with my wife for a few more break-in miles.... Thanks for your in-put!!

Booter, I have had a Mustang on my 00c and heard they are good on the TCD. I have a Corbin set up. Best seat I have ever had. Pricey but worth every penney. Good to have you on board!!!

Booter - This is John the Sales Manager at Randy's...I joined the site to get in touch with the Victory Riders in IL. I thought we could sponsor some events for you guys. I just read your post about our service department and wanted to let you know, I am passing on the good word. I know the guys in back will appreciate it.
Now if I could just figure out which customer you are cause our database doesn't have Booter in it... , then I could thank you next time you come in.
Thanks again, and if anyone else needs a little extra umphhh, just let us know.

Booter, I too have the Corbin and agree with Frank(worth every penny). My take on the two is this:
Long legged = Corbin ( moves you farther from the tank a little )
Short legged = Mustang (moves you closer)
Mustang is softer and vinyl
Corbin is firmer and leather
Both provide a better function than the stock POS.
I have found that my backside prefers the support of the corbin better and the fact that it's leather I sweat less bottomside.
2 and 1/2 cents worth.

BOOTER how about adding your comments about Randy's Cycle to the Unofficial Victory Dealer Ratings Database? There's 236 reviews in there presently but none yet for Randy's Cycle.

About Mustang seats, I've put about 20,000 miles on a Mustang wide touring model with driver backrest and have enjoyed it thoroughly. It takes about 3000 miles to break one in, but even new they're a big improvement over stock. I just bought a new Mustang in the non-driver backrest wide touring model from Direct Parts and I'm expecting to like it even better. The driver backrest model has a hard part in it where the backrest post slides in. The hard piece didn't jab me anywhere painful, but I do begin to feel its presence after about 200 miles or so; thus the seat change. My old seat is sold, BTY.
One word of warning. I recieved a phone message from someone professing to be from Direct Parts saying they didn't get my credit card number and to call them to give them the number. I think it might be a scam from someone monitoring the Direct Parts on-line order pages, so of course I ignored it. The shipping invoice shows that my credit card was indeed billed.

Booter, welcome to the site.
I bought a Mustang with driver backrest from Douglas & Frye in Sterling for my 2003 TC a couple of months ago and I love it. I think the leg room is comparable to the stock seat and the backrest is a godsend. I don't think legroom is as big of a concern on the TC because it is longer than the C model. If I were any further back I would find the reach to the bars to be less comfortable.
I don't know where you bought your bike, but Douglas & Frye gave me 10% off the price of the Mustang as a customer discount and they paid the shipping. I had to pay sales tax which offset some of it, but I was happy with the deal. Wherever you get it, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
