I have some ride dates I'd like to share with everyone. If you are interested in taking part in any of these events, please let me know and I will keep you up to date with the plans.
The first event is a show and shine weekend bike show in the Northland Mall in Sterling, IL. It is put on by GWRRA Chapter "G" out of Dixon, IL.
It will be April 23rd, 24th, and 25th.
Bikes go into the Mall on Friday the 23rd between 4-7pm. The bike will remain in the mall with members of Chapter "G" watching them during the hours the mall is open. They will be roped off and no one will be able to touch or move your bike. Bikes will be able to be removed from the mall Sunday April 25th no later than 4pm. It is a small event but it is usually well attended. There are no prizes but there will be a variety of bikes there from Chapter members, dealers, and their guests.
If you are interested, please contact me with any questions.
The second event is May 22nd for Zack’s V-Twin open house in Hyde Park, NY. I am planning on leaving home around noon on the May 20th and riding up to meet up with the Michigan Vic group. The plan in the works is to ride north into Canada, around the north side of Lake Erie and into New York State on the 21st. The 22nd would be spent at Zack’s for the open house with the 23rd being the day for travel back west on the south side of Lake Erie. And the 24th would get me back to home.
We have also talked about a NIVR charity ride on Memorial Day (May 31st) weekend. It would start out at Douglas–Frye Motorsports in Sterling, IL
Also the AMA ½ mile flat track races in Farley, IA on August 7th. Farley is located west of Dubuque, IA. It is a Saturday night race that starts at 8pm. There are a group of Vic riders from the Council Bluffs, IA that are planning on attending. We will probably try to meet up with them during the day Saturday and do some riding, then attend the races that night.
August 14th is the 2nd annual, Sturgis: Michigan that is, ride. Vic groups from all around the Great Lakes region will descend on Sturgis Michigan for a get-together on National Victory Ride Day.
Mark these dates on your calendar and try to get out and enjoy as many of them as you can!
