Now I have your attention, Made the vital error this morning, sat down to the puter b4 the first cup (it was brewing). Logged on and checked the mail and inadvertantly double clicked a attatchment from one of the folks on the VMC site(or so it said) and wham I lost control of the machine for the most part.
File was doll.cpl(control panel shell)
DO NOT I repeat DO NOT execute this bad boy. Did not get caught by norton and I saved it to disk for later perusal. Turns out to be legit code but what a MF it is, it takes over your browser and sends it to all of these .de (denmark I think) sites. Adaware busted it and busted it and busted it and busted it and it still kept coming back. turns out it has a self extracting zip that multiplies on a clock sucking up memory so the puter slows to a crawl. Simplest fix was dumping the hard drive and starting over.
