Some discussion in another thread about a meeting prompted my response to see if a meeting before/at the races in Peoria would work out. The Dixon/Rock Falls folks will be meeting up at the D&D Plaza on Rt 26 just south of I-88 in Dixon at 8am and heading to Princeton for a breakfast stop then on to the track. Should be at the track by 11am. If you plan on attending shout out and we'll see if it makes sense to hold a meeting or to try to work something else out at a later date.
Thanks, Daffy
If anyone needs directions let me know.

I will plan to be at the D & D plaza to meet you Dixon/Rock Falls folks. Actually, I think it is just north of I-88.
Where is breakfast in Princeton, in case anyone wishes to catch up there? Maybe we could designate a place in Peoria for the southern folks to join the group. I am okay either way on when to have the meeting.

You're right, is just north. DUH!!
I don't recall the name of the place in Princeton. It's on 26 but past that ???
Chillicothe/Peoria folks chime in, we'll most likely be rolling thru Chilli to 6 to 474.

Is the place in Princeton the same as last year? I think it was the Country Kitchen just south of I-80 on the left.

I'll ride to the races if its not wet on Sunday, and if it is but we're going to have a meeting somewhere near Peoria I'll drive up for that.

It is the Country Kitchen on the east side of RT26 at the 2nd? stoplight south of I80 in Princeton.
If we leave D&D at 8 am it should be about 8:30 am in Princeton for breakfast.

.....If you plan on attending shout out and we'll see if it makes sense to hold a meeting or to try to work something else out at a later date...... Being that I'm beyond the Southern fringes and Princeton has been chosen as the place to form up, the meeting doesn't make much sense for me unless we can choose a specific time and place for it near Peoria. The Peoria races will be more crowded than the Farley races. At Farley I tried in vain to find the Vic group from Iowa, even though they did attend and I know one of them. At the Peoria races the chances will be even more remote.

Steve,
I am assuming (dangerous) that there will be no formal NIVR meeting Sunday...Dave, Daffy, anyone, correct me if I'm wrong. The group shouldn't be too hard to find, we generally camp on the hillside that overlooks the N.E. quadrant of the track.

That will be where I'll be, had to think about those directions of NE for a minute Earl. Between the start/finish and turn 1 up at the top of the hill.(When you go to the same place so many times you tend to forget where you're actually at) I guess I figure if anyone has anything that needs discussed there's enough blank spots between practice to deal with it. If not enjoy the company, the day, and the smell of racing fuel. (I'll do that anyway) ;)

R&Dvic,
Perhaps your calendar entry could be edited to include that information? If a newcomer sees it maybe they'll get interested. I'll add it to the Home Page.

Daffy,
If you can bring your notes from the last meeting, we can at least maybe settle some old business. I would like to have some kind of meeting however informal it might be. I'm sure we would recess for any action on the track.
Whatdoyathink?

Oh yea. Bring a folding camp chair or a blanket if you got one. Otherwise you'll be sitting on the ground. No bleachers of any kind at Peoria.

I walked along the hill several times but couldn't spot anyone, then sat down near the track and enjoyed the races. I bumped into Keith sitting on his bike, so soon after you pulled out that I say one of ya. Did you notice my bike parked at the edge of the road close to the entrance?

Only Vic that I saw that I didn't recognize was a 99 KYSO.
We were on the hill from about 11 AM to the end of the races. Rich & Diane, Mark & Julie, Keith & Allissa (sp?), Earl, Mark M. and his brother Jim, and myself on Vics along with a pair that rode with us from Dixon on a Honda.
I know that several of us were looking for you to show up all day. In hindsight, I guess we should have traded cell numbers so we could have gotten hooked up.
I saw a guy that looked like you from behind, but when I caught up to him, it it ended up being a beemer rider with much more gray hair than you.
It was the top of hill between the start/finish and turn 1 were you looked?

I had the right hill but I didn't actually climb it, just wandered back & forth at the base looking up and trying to be conspicuous. I went to the infield afterwards and met a first-year racer from RJ Powersports. They did some of my early warranty work and sold me some accessories. Its a small world.
I rode Hwys 24, 78 and 100 South to Beardstown after the race, then dinky roads all along the Sangamon River to Springfield and home. I also discovered that Hwy 9 from Bloomington to Pekin is a nice putt, and did the backroads from Cerro Gordo to Bloomington. Its surprising how much good riding there is in Central IL. If you ride the freeways it just seems flat everywhere.
