Chapter Meeting

Since the "race meeting" didn't work out, How about we plan on a meeting Wednesday September 8th, 2004 in Peru, IL. Meet at 7:00p.m. Location to be determined. (I'll do a follow up post after a scout run with address/directions) Moving the meeting place a little farther south to make things easier on the Chilli gang.

Just a suggestion: I recently heard some radio commercials for Softails Bar & Grill in Ladd, IL, and it mentioned they had opened a new place in Peru or LaSalle. It might be worth checking out. I am afraid I don't know where it is located.

I called and asked about having a meeting there. They do not have any rooms for that but the very nice lady :p thought that we could meet in a quite corner....but not on Wednesdays...they play Texas hold 'um and it is very busy. So...the ball is back in the executive meeting planning committee's court.

I'll scout some other locations in the meantime.

Jest to keep y'all informed,
I've been trying to contact a bud that lives in Peru to get the lowdown on a decent place to meet to no avail. I'll make a trip down this weekend and scope out a joint with the necessities.(table,cold one and sumpin to chow on) and post.
Earl thanks for the heads up on softails.

Seems that Lasalle/Peru is lacking on places like I was looking for. Softails would have worked out well but... oh well. I'll call the meeting place to be Applebees Bar & Grill located just off highway 251 on the west side about 3/4 of a mile south of I-80 in the Peru Mall parking lot.

It would be nice to have an approximate head count and I'll call wednesday and try to reserve a table for us. sound off please.

Also if anyone has an alternative meeting place I'm all ears.

Lot's of taverns in the area (no food) and a fair amount of higher priced restaurants. again sound off.

aww, nuts!!!! Man, I'm about an hour and 20 minutes away, the meeting starts in 30 minutes, I've got kids and wife scattered all over half hell and three acres...and I just (I mean JUST) got my new computer, new DSL, new sbcglobal account all up and running. Talk about rotten timing.

well, I'll keep it in mind for the October meeting, can maybe ride up for that one.

Next Chapter Meeting will be at the Starved Rock Lodge October 9th, 2004. This is a Saturday so we hope to have a good turnout. Meeting for lunch at noon, ride in if the weathers nice, coming in a cage if not, meeting rain or shine. On the agenda will be nominations of officers.

Earl: (and all you other riders) I'm afraid Sat. Oct. 9th is a workday for me....I'll try to see what I can do about moving a vacation day or trading. I'll keep you posted. I would indeed love to ride up; that would be a good trip. Hopefully I'll have my new leather and saddle by then. I'll keep checking in.

I'm new here. Bought a '04 Vegas in July and have been really enjoying it. I've been riding on and off for about 10 years. As long as work cooperates, I plan on coming to the meeting. Anyone coming from or through the Tinley Park area that wouldn't mind me tagging along?

Tony B. , I am not close to Tinley Park , but If you want to meet up in the Yorkville area (rt. 47 & rt. 71 ) We can do that. I think there is a Shell gas station there. I can meet You there at about 12:15. My cell # si 630-816-8509. If you give me a number to call I can call when I leave . I am about 45 mins. from that meeting point.

Earl, if its raining or high chance of it, I'm going to drive my truck. I can get one last trip on my tires before changing them if its dry, but there's not enough tread left to be safe in the rain.

Sorry I couldn't make it up on Saturday, Earl. I couldn't miss work and I had overtime on Sunday. I'm just now catching up. We've put a roof on the house, and currently I'm working on the soffits (in the rain today) so I can get the new gutters put on. Then it's on to the Kitchen remodel. I'm not regretting all the poor riding weather right now, now that I have lots of work lined up for me to do between workdays.

I sincerely hope to catch up and meet everyone soon, maybe in Nov. meeting?
