Dunlop lists D417 as the Victory OEM rear tire for V92C and 491 Elite II as the "recommended replacement". Dunlop shows the same specs for these two tires, including tread depth. I'm thinking the D417 may provide slighly less miles than the Elite II, but I'm guessing. Seems like I've gotten more miles out of my current rear Elite II than I did with the original tire. Does anyone know the difference, if any? The nearest dealer to me wants to put the OE tire on the back. I'm wondering if I should specify Elite II instead.

I do like Dunlop tires.....good grab and predictable slide, no sudden break.

Hey Steve I wish I could help. I have a similar problem on my SC. I've had two sets of oem tires and one set of the new and improved upgraded Dunlops.Average mileage; 8,000 miles. So I'm looking for a different brand that will get better mileage.

My 99 vic came with the Elite II. The 03 came with a Dunlop Cruisemax whitewall (150/80-16). The Elite II was pretty well flattened around the circumference by 6,000 miles. The Cruisemax is holding up much better. I've also heard that OEM rubber, even in the same brand, doesn't hold up as well. If true, an Elite II purchased via the aftermarket might hold up much better than what came from the factory. The 417 however is made primarily as an OEM tire for the vic and may be the same regardless of where it comes from.
