Lest you think this is a shameless plug....
My Vic dealer Douglas & Frye went to bat for me once again and the results were great, this time about the kickstand recall. I had paid over $300 for a new lower frame member after my kickstand lug broke, long before the recall. That was at a dealer closer to me and their recommendation was appropriate - no problem with that. The Polaris recall offers to reimburse for previous expenses, and Polaris wanted me to arrange it separately with them. Trouble was, I couldn't reach them on the phone. D&F said let us handle it, and today I received the full reimbursement in the mail, no muss no fuss.
I haul my bike for 2 hours & 45 minutes each way to reach D&F, and its worth it.

You betcha! I travel about one hour and fifty minutes to get there. You can't beat the service! They treat me just like family!

Dougles and Frye helped me out when my tranny started going down the tubes. Got Polaris to chip in the parts i paid labor. While it was in pieces, i had 10.5:1 pistons, Andrews cams and kickstand recall done. Now i feel like i have a brand new ride. D & F was the only dealer the area that would help me. Now they have a customer for life, even if it is a 2 hour ride each way.
I am sambucash and i approved this message. :D

Steve: I couldn't agree with you more. They know service, they know how to take care of the CASH PAYING customer (their 'bread and butter' that most H-D dealers seem to have forgotten) and you won't find a better wrench than Rich. Matter of fact, he even talked me through my last (first and only) dilemma over the phone a couple weeks ago.
Next time you're going up, let me know via email at < smitty1967@sbcglobal.net > and I'll see if I can't ride up with you, if you want to come through Peoria and go up Rte. 40. Maybe we can hook up with Earl, too. That's if the weather will hold out for us. And we can get a schedule together. And no work or overtime days. And----oh, you get the idea. Drop me a line.

Next time you're going up, let me know via email at.....Rich gave me information about my Honda XR air screw over the phone on my recent Western dual-sport vacation.
I ride my bike up when the objective is to join a ride, but when its to get work done I haul it up on a trailor and leave it. I have been wondering if I can fit in one more ride this year into NE Iowa, SE Minn., and SW Wisc. If I do it'll be a Saturday overnighter at a motel somewhere up there. I'll post in the regional ride forums if I decide to try it. I did it last year and wound up sitting on a frosted saddle on Sunday AM, but it was a good trip.
