Fornal VMC Chapter

This is probably a good time to start talking about a formal Chapter of the Victory Motorcycle Club in Northern Illinois, Southern Wisc. and who ever else would like to join in from the start. Tim Thompson (Sidecar) has agreed to help me with this initiative (forming a Chapter). My thoughts for the Chapter are:
1. Keep the rules very simple
2. Members must be VMC paid members
3. Have at least one ride/meeting every month
4. Members will decide on everything
5. Become closer/support all the Dealers in the area
6. Ride and have fun together
If this is successful we could start other Chapters in Illinois and the surrounding states

Please post with your e-mail address or send me an e-mail if you are interested so I can start a mail list. I would like to center our first kick off meeting around the motorcycle show that Saturday or Sunday either before or after the show.

All resources at VictoryMotorcycle.Org are free for all visitors, and do not require membership in a club. I don't have anything against the VMC, but a formal affiliation with it would have to be pursued somewhere else. The making of exclusionary rules at a site with an inclusionary philosphy doesn't make any sense to me.

Steve, was not impling that we turn the site into the VMC chapter site. Just wanted to post to infrom Vic riders of what I was trying to do. If that is not exceptable please let me know.

No problem with that Frank. I guess I read more into it than there actually was, probably because there was post at the VMC suggesting the name of this board be changed to "Victory Motorcycle Club - Northern Illinois Chapter"! I know it wasn't your post. I don't even care what the name is, as long as its not that!

I prefer to confine myself to technical issues only so the board will pick up a flavor and momentum of its own (or not). My role is to watch server security, bandwidth through my router, and access to resources.

Steve, I let Frank know that this site is open to all and is not associated with any club. I said that it would be OK to comunicate
with other Vic rider on this site about setting up a VMC chapter in Northern ILL.

Frank, Meeting at the Motorcycle Show is a good Idea. There should be several VMC club members there. There is a bus going to the show from the Sterling area on Sunday. I'm in for meeting on Sunday and if you want to meet befor then to go over anything let me know.

Thanks Tim, I will try and get us a place that Sunday, as we get closer we should get together and talk about what it is we are goung to talk about. Also, with people comming on the bus do we meet before or after everyone has been to the show? If after, will there be a problem with time?

Frank , I think meeting just after the bus arrives would a best.
Maybe a Breakfest meeting?:cool:
