I've been looking to upgrade from my Honda 750 to a VROD since HD first introduced them. Was scoping out the VRODs at Woodstock, IL HD this past weekend and paid visit to Randy's Cycle in Huntley. I saw an 8ball on the floor there and was immediately hooked. Not only does it have the "look" but it's got some power, too, at a very inexpensive price tag.

Was looking to get some feedback on the 8ball and anyone's experience with Randy's Cycle. I did some research and was curious to see if anyone can give some feedback on any dragging on the Vic's and seat comfort (read where they were a problem around '01 or '02 with some reviewers).

Any feedback is appreciated.

Do a search on the VMC website. You'll find a lot of info.

This is what I found for the last year.

The 8-Ball is really a Vegas, so you could search for vegas info also.

Hope this helps.

jcmccart, Welcome to the Site :D .
I have a 03 Vegas and they are sweet. The 8 ball is a blacked out Vegas. The 03 Vegas had a fuel tank recall and a couple other items. There were some other items with other models and Victory has taken care of them. The bike are dependable , We have taken a mostly solo trips of 5500 miles in 03 and 3300 miles in 04 with no worry of problems. The problems Victory had are mainly with its frist production years of 99-01 and that was the Trans. I have about 45K on my Victorys and have had about $100 out of pocket expense outside of normal maintenance.
I have only heard good thing about Randy's Cycle. He has been there for a long time that I know of (I think 10 yrs or more). Most places with a bad reputation do not survive very long.
Take plenty of tooth picks with you on your test ride , you will need them to clean the bugs out of your smile  .
Hope this helps,

jcmccart -

I bought a Vegas last year and am still smiling. You'll love the Victory.

Not to turn you away from Randy's but check the prices at Motoplex of South Chicago in Worth (708-448-5822). When I was there Saturday they had marked down prices on all their bikes and they had at least one of every model, even a Ness Kingpin and Vegas. I do remember a 2004 black Vegas was marked at $11,900. The best guy to talk to there is Don.

I purchased my Ness KP from Randys. He is a good honest business person and will not cheat you. He was willing to meet another dealer's price on the bike even though it is a limited addition bike. I have since purchased an additional grand worth of merchandise from him. I will have the bike back there this summer for a stage one. I would not hesitate to purchase another bike from him. If you buy the bike from him tell him Jim with the Ness Kingpin says "Hi".

picked up my 8ball from america's open road 2 weeks ago. had them add passenger seat/pegs, saddlebags (detachable) and a stage 1 kit w/slip-ons. this thing is definitely a head turner! friends on HDs ride in front of me and they can still hear the rumble coming from my bike over their own....
