From Ken Hawkeye Glassman (Motorcycle Columnist - Daily Herald)

Hello Everybody,

Beginning April 18, my motorcycle columns for the Daily Herald will appear it's own separate section, called Motorcycling. We'll be publishing an Events Calendar for all kinds of charity ride events. If you have one that is near and dear to you, and wish to have it published, please E-mail the basic info (Who, What, Where, When) to the following e-mail address: motorcycling@dailyherald.com

Also, We've been talking about printing photos of readers and their motorcycles. So if anyone has a JPEG photo of themselves and their motorcycle, and would like to see it possibly published in the newspaper, please send it along to me. The editors, NOT ME, will choose the best ones to publish each week, based on the visual quality of the photo. Please write the year, make & model of the motorcycle, with your name, and town you live in, and if the photo was taken at some exotic location, such as the top of Pikes Peak, let us know that too. (If it was taken in front of the Dairy Queen in downtown Harvard, not so important) But it doesn't have to be a shot from someplace exotic, just a good shot of you and your bike.

Thanks

Ken Hawkeye Glassman

I suggest we send them information on our May charity ride. It would also be great if we could get all our members to submit pics of their Vics. It would be neat to see pictures of Vics in the newspaper!

No. I had been approached a few years back (I have a software consulting company) and decided I didn't care for all their rules. I am however a Chicago Cruiser which is where I got Ken's message.

That sounds like a good idea. Let me first see Sunday if he's at the Cruisers meeting in which case I will talk to him in person.

I spoke to Key today following the Cruiser's meeting (at which I announced the open house). Ken is going to contact Randy to get further information. There may even be another Victory article because of this! BTW Ken loves the Kingpin and if you didn't see his write up on it following his ride to Sturgis and back on a KP last year you should try to find a copy. Ken is Victory's best source of free PR in the Chicago area.

We (NIVR/VMC) need to give him the information about May's Victory Circle charity ride. I guess that we could be me if you guys want.

I don't think we will be able to do the eighth. Randy is so busy with sales and the open house that he doesn't have time to think. I will visit him Friday and see if I can take over that entire project.

I got my bike back Saturday. Seems the little hole that allows the brake fluid to flow back when the brakes are relased was partially blocked. While it was there Randy got a notice from Victory that some piece on the end of the Ness drag bars could cause the throtle to stick and he took care of that for me. So today I finally managed to get a few miles on her. I broke 50 miles. I'm a little concerned that I may not have completed the break in period before the April 16th ride. I really don't want to ride for 4 hours at 60 MPH if I only have 150-200 miles on her. I'll try to get some more miles on her now that the weather is getting better. I will say this, riding my Nessi is almost as good as sex and unlike my wife the bike doesn't need much foreplay before a ride! :goofy:
