I took Nessi out for a ride today. I had stopped at a red light and started back up. I got up to about 35 mph when all of a sudden the bike felt like it was dragging and the engine had no power. I pulled in the clutch and almost went over the bars as the front wheel all but locked up. I managed to get to the side of the road before she front brake locked up completely. The brake lever would not budge. A nice couple on a BMW came along and offered to help. He got out his tools (damn I miss my hard bags and tools) and opened up the front brake reservoir and proceeded to pump the brake lever. After about a dozen pumps the brakes relaxed. He re-assembled the reservoir. About this time a local LEO comes along and asks what’s up. I explained and he asked if I needed a tow. I told him thanks, I think I can get her home. He said fine and remarked that my bike should not have broke down since it wasn’t a Harley! I rode her home using only the real brake. I will have to call my dealer in the morning.

Thanks,

Frank, I had the levers (brake and clutch) and master cylinder/reservoir chromed. I am now hearing from others on the VMC forum that the chroming may be the cause. I'm going to take her back to Randy to have it checked out. What can I say, the bike didn't look like without having those parts chromed.

I had mine done by Zack's on my 00C. Have not had any issues. This could have caused the problem, could also be something else in the line. Did you have the calipers done also?

Didn't have the calipers done, just the stuff on the bars. I'll find out soon enough what the problem is. Randy picked her up tonight. Guess I am going to find out first hand how good the warrenty service is.
