Well, the first meeting of the Illinois Victory Riders, Arlington Heights Chapter, was successful. We had around 15 people show up (maybe more, I did not bring the paperwork home). We agreed to start having informal rides every Sunday morning at 10 a.m., which will start at Americas Open Road, and possibly one day ride per month. We elected a Ride coordinator (Jim), a Secretary (Scott) and a President (unfortunately it was me because no one else wanted the position). We then had a ride to the Broken Oar and had some lunch. We look foreword to our first two rides next week end, Saturday the first official IVR ride and Sunday to Randy’s to see the Ness boys. I will post details once I get them.

Thanks to Ross, Scott and Lou from Americas Open Road. They opened up the facility for us and extended their hospitality! Steve, if we could change the Name from Greater Chicago, to Arlington Heights chapter, I would appreciate it. Thanks

I sent this PM to Frank, but after reading Firepin's post I'm uncertain who it should have been sent to, so here it is. Someone let me know who's going to be the moderator, supermod, or admin if the admin level is possible.

================

I am starting to create a forum in the Regionals area for your new chapter. I'll name it "Illinois Victory Riders of Arlington Heights", but it can be whatever you choose. Let me know if you want something else and I'll change it accordingly. Are you going to be VMC chartered? If so I'll indicate that with sub-text.

The non-NIVR local chapters will have general accessability after the model of the local chapters of the VMC forums. The special user groups that were created for the NIVR are technically possible for the other locals, but it would be confusing to administer with high error potential.

I can assign you moderator, supermoderator, or administrator privileges restricted to your forum. I'll put you in the most powerful group I can, but first I have to learn some things. As administrator you may be able to create subforums in your area. I'll let you know.

I sent you a reply. What post are you referring too?

I sent you a reply. What post are you referring too?This one [http://www.illinoisvictoryriders.com/forums/showthread.php?t=374] but it doesn't matter because I mis-read it. I must have been too tired.

I did some experimenting. Moderator is the highest priviledge I can grant that would be restricted to this forum. It gives the ability to move, close, stick, split and merge threads, etc. If you want that degree of independent thread management let me know who to give it to and its done.

You can give it to me. I am on this site more than most and don't see me using admin functions much if any. As allways, Thanks for all efforts!!

Done.

Note that all forums under the "Regionals" Category were originally set up to allow image uploads. That propogates to this forum and any subforums that may eventually be created under it, so, upload away! Don't forget about the Pic Sizer utility (link above), since photos larger than a certain size would need to be reduced prior to upload.
