We are in the process of starting a MVC/NIVR chapter for those Victory riders in Kane, McHenry, Boone, Dekalb and surrounding counties along with those who purchased their bike or have it serviced at Randy's Cycle in Huntley. Here is the letter that is going out to Randy's customers...
Dear Victory Owner,
I’m sure you enjoy riding your fine American made Victory motorcycle. But have you ever wanted to share that experience with other Victory owners? Do you want to get together with other Victory owners and talk about these great bikes and how to maintain and customize them and how much fun they really are? Do you live in Kane, McHenry, Boone, Dekalb or a nearby County or did you purchase or do you have your Victory serviced at Randy’s Cycle in Huntley? If you answered yes to the above questions then please read on.
My name is Jim Urban and I own a Victory motorcycle (a Kingpin). I am a member of the Northern Illinois Victory Riders (NIVR) and of the Victory Motorcycle Club (VMC). I have been working with the NIVR and Randy Weaver, owner of Randy’s Cycle in Huntley to form a chapter of the NIVR/VMC based in Huntley Illinois and sponsored by Randy’s Cycle. To that end, we have scheduled an organizational meeting for the end of this month to formally start this chapter. The meeting will be held…
When: Thursday, April 28th at 7:00 PM
Where: The Village Inn Restaurant, 11713 E Main St. Huntley
Topics to be discussed that night include:
1. What is the VMC, the NIVR and how do they relate to the VRA and Victory Corporate.
2. What are the benefits of becoming a NIVR/VMC chapter.
3. What is the process of becoming a Local Chapter.
4. We will need to choose a President, Secretary/Treasurer, Ride coordinator.
5. Membership requirements. (All members are required to be a paid member of the VMC. See www.thevmc.com for membership information and other great Victory resources.)
6. Choosing a name for the chapter.
7. Choosing a recurring date (last Thursday, first Monday, etc) for meetings.
8. Plan some rides (dates, destinations, etc)!
I’m sure there are many other items which will come up during the meeting. Please feel free to bring your questions. If you plan to attend please drop me an email (bigjim@speakeasy.net) or give me a call at 847-428-0659 so I can make sure the restaurant reserves enough space for our group. By the way, not only does the Village Inn have great food at reasonable prices, but they are biker friendly and have agreed to furnish us a meeting space for as long as we want.
Happy riding!
Jim Urban
