Just thought I would keep you up to date on the new server, A quote from Miles
Just an update that the server is being shipped to the data center tomorrow. Had some schedule conflicts, but still looking at being back to normal within two weeks.

IDAKNOW ..... I could order the parts on monday and by tuesday evening have the sucker running(and I don't do it for a living)(I do know sometimes it takes time for ma bell to build a path) I'm still interested to see what kind of throughput the loop has. I've been wondering what type of backbone is going to be used. I do know what 1 T1 or DS1 if you prefer, costs per month and what its capabilities are. If the margin is set to 60 now and I hardly ever see less than 40 on....... you get my drift. I'm thinking 4 T1's and that is really going to honk off you highspeed guys. Past 6 T1's and the cost for a DS3 becomes appealing but still friggin expensive. It don't matter how fast the server is if you can't move the data in and out. Would be one hell of a IRA in the basement if you knew what you were doing though. Selling webspace on the side and all, without choking the folks paying the bills.

I have to ask miles about this.
Why would they limit the forums during peak useage but, you can still go into the photo gallery and download all the pics you want during the max user time??
I would think that DL'ing images would tax the server more than looking at a thread??
