CHAPTER CONCERNS
1. Where is the Chapter headed and what would the membership like it to become? The members agreed that the chapter needs more structure and improved communication. The members voiced that they would like to see the Chapter be more involved in Charity events/rides. It was agreed that all of us attend these events throughout the season. There is no reason that any member couldn’t send out an E-Mail and post on the IVR website with a meeting place and time for others to attend. Scott (we all should start using this) will start posting more with updates and events. Bottom line, the more activities (rides, Wednesday night dinners, Sunday morning rides and breakfast, Formal meetings etc), the more participation and fun.
2. Participation and expectation of the Chapters Members? We discussed that initially we had 3 or 4 rides when we first started the Chapter. Frank stated that to plan a ride it does take some thought and time and asked for help in the responsibility. All attendees at the meeting agreed to sponsor a ride before the season ends. The type and length of ride will be determined by the individual. Mike Ward has agreed to take on the responsibility of “Chapter Ride Coordinator” (Thanks Mike!!!) with the help of Frank Coletto. The schedule for the upcoming rides will be at the bottom of the page.
3. How often should we meet and when? It was determined that we will have a formal “Chapter Meeting” on the first Sunday of every month at Americas Open Road. If a Holiday falls on that weekend the Chapter meeting will be moved to the following week. We also agreed to have an informal dinner “Get Together” every Wednesday. We would me at AOR at 6:30 and go to a Local Establishment to talk bikes and solve the world’s problems (riding your bike is not mandatory).
4. Should we have dues? It was agreed that we should not collect dues at this time. We will discuss the issue next year and would be voted and approved by the membership. If and any money collected would be used for internal funding, charity donations, chapter BBQ’s, etc. No amount was discussed
5. Status of the Illinois Victory Riders State Charter of the Victory Motorcycle Club. The VMC voted to approve a ‘State Charter” for Illinois. What does this mean? Previous to this vote, any chapter in Illinois would have to become a separate chapter of the Victory Motorcycle Club. Tim Thompson, Mark Duckworth, Dave Johns, Jim (Big Jim) and Frank Coletto determined that because we are all part of a parent group (Illinois Victory Risers) and the fact that we all liked to ride together, it would be to the best interest of all the chapters to fall under the same umbrella. We will still abide by the same rules set forth by the VMC for “Local Chapters” and have a Board of Directors that will consist of the Secretary and President of every chapter with an overseeing President, Secretary and Ride Coordinator.
6. Upcoming Events:
9/11/05 Sunday, Ride Coordinator Frank Coletto

Scott will ad these dates on the IVR board. Mark your colanders and let’s finish the season with a BANK. Ride coordinators please contact Frank as you plan for your ride. He is a good link to assist you in your planning. http://www.tidewaterhog.com/safety_tips.html it’s from HOG put the planning is the same, even if our bikes are better.
