PARK CITY, ILLINOIS, October 11, 2005 – Northern Illinois Food Bank, a member of America’s Second Harvest – The Nation’s Food Bank Network, the Quantico Marine Corps League Toys for Tots, and the McHenry Moose Hall is working with the First Annual Christmas Tri-County Motorcycle Ride to gather food, toys, and funds at the McHenry Moose Hall [3535 N. Richmond Rd (Rte. 31), Johnsburg, IL]. This event will be held, rain or shine, on Sunday, November 6, 2005, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Individuals and groups are invited to bring non-perishable food items for donation to Northern Illinois Food Bank and/or unwrapped, new toys (no stuffed animals) for donation to the Marine Corps League Toys for Tots to share with less fortunate neighbors in Boone, McHenry, and Kane Counties. The Moose Hall will be preparing breakfast and lunch between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.; part of these proceeds will go to support the children of Mooseheart. Motorcycles, cars, trucks, etc. are welcome to join the ride.

Feeding our hungry neighbors during the holiday season – and throughout the rest of the year - is always important to Northern Illinois Food Bank. Providing joy to the children in these counties with toys is a top priority for the Marine Corps League Toys for Tots. Please join these groups as they come together to provide a Christmas to remember for many that do not otherwise have means to do so.

Northern Illinois Food Bank, a member of America’s Second Harvest – The Nation’s Food Bank Network, acquires donated food from retailers, manufacturers, corporations, and community resources and distributes it through its network of 480 food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and other nonprofit food assistance sites to help the 227,000 people living in poverty in 13 northern Illinois counties including Boone, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Will, and Winnebago Counties.
