Bike Night

Rich has discussed this idea with a local establishment not too far from the shop, (The North End), and they are into the idea. This coming spring we should start a new trend and get out once a week, get local, have a cold one, drum up some interest in the LC, have a ride out now and then. Thirstdays came into my head writing this. Whut do ya think?

Sounds good to me. I'd come up a couple of times, take Friday off and turn it into a three-day ride into IA, MN and WI.

Both fenders are installed, license plate molded in. After three days of work on the front fender it fits real nice! I'm waiting to order my taillights, (company is moving) a little cutting & fitting then off to the painter.

I am very familiar with the establishment, and my wife and I consider one of the owners a good friend. Has there been any discussion with the North End folks as to what night they would prefer? Thursday is usually a fairly busy night for them with their 4 wheeled customers and the parking lot is pretty small. Perhaps a night earlier in the week when business is slower would make more sense. We might be able to get more cooperation with a motorcycle only parking area, food & drink specials, etc. Just tossing that out for consideration.

I spoke briefly to Paul Wiederaenders, the owner, last evening and asked if anyone had mentioned to him doing a weekly bike night at North End. He said nobody has mentioned it. He also said it comes up every year but nobody has ever followed through. He doesn't seem opposed to it. I believe he is waiting for a proposal from the bar manager or whoever is running things on a daily basis. I think several of us need to stop in sometime and impress upon them how good an idea this would be. We could even give some suggestions on the type of promotions that would draw bikers.
