Has any one ever seen a problem with there tach where it says the bike idles at 5500 RPM then pegs all the way over I know the bike is not idling that high tyhe tach just seems to have gone over that far. I did try to start it when the battery was low and the spedo housing was making a ticking noise it still has the old style spedo. any sugestions

I've had mine read half what it should have, but never had it read high. I usually shut it off and restart it and it's back to normal.

Al, Thanks for reminding me that the tach on mine stopped working. Try disconnecting the battery and see if it resets. I think mine broke. It stopped working right while I was riding.

Mine ran obviously low on a few occasions. The stop engine/start thing always cleared it. Don't ask me to explain this but getting the alternator upgrade cured that and all other electrical weirdness I ever had.
