I use Country Mututal Insurance. I've filed claims under both motortcycle and auto and they treated me right.

I have State Farm on my house, car and bikes. I have tried shopping for lower rates a couple of times. Have not found anything thats less expensive that warrents me changing. I did change my deductable to 1000 dollars on everthing that made a big difference. I figuared that if I do not have a claim for three years, I would cover the 1000.

State Farm, House, Trucks, Car, Bikes, Trailer. Same as Frank, looked for lower rates to no avail and the service when needed has been exceptional.

I've had Progressive for years through a local independent agent. Good rates and still local service. What impressed me most was when I told them I had a Victory they didn't say, "What's that?" In 1999 when I bought the first one, none of the other insurance companies could give me an accurate quote because they didn't know what it was.

Funny you should say that. I have State Farm on everything and they've been great. I got the impression from some on the VMC that progressive may be much cheaper, so I gave them a call. They quoted me a really low number, so I called up state farm. They couldn't figure out how it was so low, but I told them I was going to have to switch since it was so low.
So I call back progressive, go through a bunch of crap, finally give them my VIN and they go - "Oh, this has a 1500cc engine." I of course said yes, and then they informed me that it would be a different amount, which was more than State Farm. Apparently they had Victory in the system with a 92cc motor. However under Polaris they had the correct bike.
Of course I was pissed and I'm still with State Farm. Called them and told them why Progressive was so low. I'll NEVER look for auto insurance elsewhere without some amazing reason, as Geico and Progressive were more expensive for my cars too.
So now I just listen to the commercials and laugh.

My understanding is that State Farm gives a pretty good deal on bike insurance if you insure your autos and/or home with them also. If you go in and try to buy just insurance on a bike they base the rate on engine size as well. The penalty for insuring the bike only was nearly double of what it would be for the bike having bike, auto & home combined. I found this out when my sister-in-law worked for a local State Farm agent. State Farm couldn't touch the rates I was getting with my Auto and Home policies, so I talked to my agent about Progressive and there was no confusion on engine size. All they really seemed to care about was that it wasn't a crotch rocket. I wouldn't dream of doing business with Progressive or any one else if there wasn't a agent in town I could deal with face to face.
