Lets see how many are interested in this and then pick a weekend and day, either......
Sept 23 or 24
Sept 30 or Oct 1
Start at Bikers Dream in East Peoria.
http://www.bikersdreampeoria.com/
Weave in and out of the valley up the East bank.
Weave all over the place in the Princeton/Tiskilwa area.
Visit the wind turbines (http://www.stevesite.us/illinois_scenes/turbines_at_tiskilwa/).
Weave back down the West bank, or Northern riders may want to peel off after Tiskilwa.
Barring rain this will be a fantastic ride!

I will try and make the 24th also if that is what is decided on.
Steve...can you suggest a nice ride route that runs over and through the Carthage, Nauvoo area???
Thanks.....Earl

OK........Sunday, September the 24th it is.
Earl I've never explored Western IL between Quincy and the Quad Cities. I only know the Western roads South of Quincy and North of Fulton. Sorry. Just curious, why do you ask about that area? I've driven West from Galesburg and it tends to be mostly flat clear to the river.

It will be about 4 hours from Bikers Dream to Princeton, including a 45 min buffer for goofing around. That includes a stop at the wind turbines.
Time from Princeton back to Peoria on backroads is about 1.45 hours.
How does 9:30 AM departure from Bikers Dream sound?
Steve
Remember folks we'll be on country backroads a lot, so crank up your shock preload if you're bringing a passenger.

Steve, The 9:30 Departure time sounds good to me. From Princeton we will have to head back north.

It may be a bit early in the week to put much stock in weather reports, but there may be rain on the weekend in Peoria with a slightly higher chance of it in Princeton.
Lets stay in communication about this - remember its harvest time, meaning dirt on the road, and the beginning of leaf-droping time. You know what happpens to dirt and leaves when they get wet.

Weather channel shows strong storms, 60-70% chance of precip for Saturday in Peoria and Princeton. On Sunday its partly cloudy and 20% chance of precip.
For me 20% is usually a go. The problem is that Tim and I both would need to ride to Peoria on Saturday afternoon and hole up there. For Tim and I the decision point will be about Noon tomorrow, Saturday. I will post after we talk.
Earl, what are your thoughts about this? When would be the latest you would make a decision?

Just talked to Tim. Its a go for him and same thing for me.
The ride is on.
Gebby's for breakfast sounds like a plan. Does 8:30 sound OK for that? I have no idea how long it takes to get served there on Sun AM.

I'm thinking after breakfast we should still start the ride from Biker's Dream at 9:30, to pick up anyone who may not see this message.
Tim and I and possibly one other will be at the Super 8 in Washington, about 5 miles East of the river on Hwy 24 tonight.
See ya.

Yeah, it would be fun to make this an annual putt. In mid-October perhaps, it could be done at the color peak.
