I was at Motoplex Joliet yesterday and Derek and Bill asked me to help them set-up a schedule of rides out of the stores. I'm looking for routes, destinations, and other ideas. What are your favorite routes, destination, or other rides?

For starters be sure to include these:
V2V, AVR, VMC Meet, VMC-GL Regional Meet (Sturgis Mich), Spring IVR Ride, IVR Charity (VJGC) Ride and Fall IVR Ride
These should give you at least 1 ride per month April through September.

Other destinations/routes could include: Starved Rock, IL 2 (along the Rock River), Kettle Moraine (southern Wis), Sheboygan Lake (WI), Road America Track Day (Elkhart Lake Wi), Galena, Illinois River Peoria area, Great River Rd (Mississippi River), etc.

Then there are all kinds of organized rides such as: Ride For Kids, DuKane Toy Run, Little Angels, Chicago Midnight Run, etc.

You're in a tough spot for shop rides, which tend to be shorter than a day. Besides Starved Rock, an ~80-mile blast out I80 will put you on some nice small roads around the Princeton/Tiskilwa area. That's roughly around where interstate 180 is.

You could lead a putt over the Lake Michigan bicycle path. After all, who's going to arrest you?

Hey Tony, How have ya been. If you get back to Motoplex anytime soon ask them if they are still going to remain a sponsor of this Site. As to rides Big Jim listed several and for local you may want to get a ILL. Atlas & Gazettteer it shows almost every road in ILL. . So make out a map and follow your nose, or free style it and forget the map.
Hope to see ya soon,
