Planning on going but it looks like I will be tight on time. Leave early on Wednesday, July 29th. Arrive in Billings Thursday. Leave Billings early on Sunday, August 2nd. Arrive home in Dixon Monday. Looks to be almost 1200 miles one way so will have to do at least 600 miles of superslab each day out and back.

Too soon for me to know about the time off and what my wife's schedule will look like come summer.

Dave, when they put in that hip did they slip a couple of steel plates in your butt cheeks too? I've done a couple of 600 mile days, but on this one I want to take my time and see a little of the country. Probably won't get another chance. Just starting to plan my route and trying to get off of I-90 if I can. Looking at US 14 and 212 through S.Dakota into Montana. Coming back I'm thinkin' about going North from Billings then East. There are some real scenic routes up that way. I figure the roads around Yellowstone and Sturgis will be bumper to bumper around then. Nothing final yet though. Probably leave Tuesday morning and try to make 500or better a day the first two then do what's left on Thursday morning into Billings. I'm happy I don't have any time pressure 'cause I'm not real fond of cookin' down the interstate when I can ride the back roads, I just like seeing the small towns and the scenery.

Me too, it just doesn't work out that way too often. Maybe when I grow up. :biglaugh:

Wrong place for Daves plates, me thinks they be in other areas

I'm sure he has them in his boots, on his knees, and on his elbows and they must be non-ferrous cuz I don't get sparks thrown at me. Under the hat... must be brick. Boy can put down the miles though (for an old fart):D
