View Full Version : Ill/Ind winter meeting
How about us all trying to get together in the burbs of Chicago or in shampoo-banana towards the end of January? Like Jan 30th?
I used to stay at a Holiday Inn on Neil Street just off of I74 when I traveled for the bank. There were several restaurants and bars around.
My schedule gets f'g crazy, so the sooner I get it on the calendar, the better for me.

I think on January 30 th, the prices in Downtown Chicago are going to be farely cheap on a weekend night. If we all agree to the date I will get some info on prices.

For me the 30th works for now, haven't seen the schedule yet, but sure I can trade if necessary. As far as a meeting place might need to do a post on the VMC site in the Great Lakes Forum and see if any biters from Mich/Wisc/Ohio/or the rest of Illinois/Indiana folks that don't come here have an interest and go from there. I know Kozy had mentioned some interest on getting together and C-U would be a major hike for Michiganders or Cheeseheads. But Chitown is a hike for the Ohio tribe. I say see who bites and make a decision from there. I bit, I'm in, half a dozen cold ones a shot or two and tons a BS, my kinda party.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

If we have the Mich and Ohio groups maybe we should do this in Indy. Kind of in the the Middle. Downtown Indy is a nice place. You can walk to everything.

Lisa and I can't make it that weekend. But we thought since the date isn't exactly etched in stone yet.....how about the following weekend of Feb. 6 & 7? That's also the weekend of the Rosemont Bike Show and Chicago ABATE chili cook off (they have a band). Just a thought, let me know.

We're good to go for wherever the group goes. Personally, I would prefer less crowds, however I would like to go to the motorcycle show sometime. Yes, I'm inconsistent fairly often.
Again, we'll go where the groups wants to go.

I am in for whatever weekend. We just need to nail down a date so we can make reservations and post on the VMC forum. It would be hard to keep everyone together at the MC show because of the size.

We are having Grandma watch the kids the weekend of Jan. 23, 24 & 25. That is why any weekend directly before or after that we cannot do. The Bike show opens at 9 or 10 AM , we could go there for 5 or 6 hours. Then set a time and meeting place to go to dinner. As I mentioned earlier Chicago ABATE Chili cook off is that weekend. They have a Band in the basement, and quieter rooms upstairs for bullshiting. We can also do anything the group would like to do. Alot of us are going to the MC show anyway.

I just checked the Holiday Inn in Rosemont . Punched in 18 adults and 9 rooms and it showed available rooms starting at 69.99.
tim,
that actually sounds like a pretty good idea. (the bike show, the chili cook off, and the holiday inn).
got my vote!
